how much harder is banking then valuation?
Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

No question Deloitte is the better option. We run up against them constantly, whereas I almost never see EY in the mix unless it’s a compliance or op model kind of consulting thing. For real tech implementation, Deloitte is far superior than EY.
Not sure, what geography you’re based out of, but if you’re in Australia, then Deloitte’s presence here in the API space is huge and fairly mature I’d say. They’re heavily involved in end to end development of many government portals and financial services’ softwares.
That said maybe it’s also worthwhile going back to Deloitte, IMO the hiring manager and not the HR, and telling them about your EY offer and ask them if they can do something about it. Even if they bring you on as an SC right now but adjust your compensation and consider you for an early promotion – that’s still a win.
Go with manager role. Deloitte will only set you back 2+ years

If you want to focus on technology especially cloud based solution architecture, Deloitte is just levels more capable and mature than EY.
Deloitte and their offshore delivery infrastructure is far superior. Culture-wise, EY might be better. Either way, congratulations on the offers!
