Many who repatriate are lured by a vibrant startup scene in India that is drawing unprecedented capital from venture and private equity firms and is buoyed by an effervescent market for stocks. But they are also disenchanted with what they perceive as America’s bleak and hopeless immigration landscape, where the wait times for green cards are tortuously long, and the limits on launching startups for newcomers are highly restrictive.

HI folks,
My current CTC is very low with respect to my YOE. CTC : 5.2 lpa
YoE : 4
Tech stack : Python , MLops
But now my manager has initiated H1B visa for me and the visa process is in progress.
Is it worth to wait till the H1B process completes to work in U.S (74k package) (or) should i make a switch immediately. ?

The new immigration lawyer is even worse than previous one. They have gotten better past few months but still need few follow ups before they response. It is a series of frustrations for me with them.
Worst ! They don't care or respond
Do you think leadership is aware? Isn't this something they should care about? I'm yet to find someone who has had a good experience with them. What happened to SLAs?
@OP: start CC'ing the Deloitte immigration person on correspondence if you aren't getting a reply.
They won't care until it impacts them . This does not directly
I actually think it impacts them in a way. Otherwise, why are they sponsoring in the first place. Also, the frustrating process is a distraction for employees who would rather focus their time on productive work. All we need is for leadership to get the lawyers to do what they are paid to do
They're definitely worse. I've had colleagues escalate to PPDs because they're being delayed on renewals that impact their ability to remain in the country. Deloitte basically went the low-cost option, and it shows.
My adjustment of status filing took a couple of extra months, which I guess isn't too bad in the grand scheme of things, but was still very frustrating. Others have had it worse.
I buy the argument of the low cost option. Perfect timing given the uncertainties around immigration. If PPDs are aware of the situation, I wonder why corrective measures have not been put in place. Something needs to be done about this - ASAP too!
They are not horrible as long as you remember that you are the client, and make sure that they get that.
M1 - I think that's a good approach. Can you further explain how to achieve this. As mentioned previously, they ignore emails and never answer calls. It's hard enough to get in touch with them
I have had a similar experience. I sent atleast 12 follow up emails on one topic but no responses. I then stopped emailing the paralegal on the case and directly IMed the manager(lead attorney) copied on the initial email. That got me a response.
For some reason, the paralegal and the lead attorney assigned to me always have their Skype profiles on "Do not disturb". Curious to find out that one person who has had a good experience with these guys
I took the exact same approach as D1 CC everyone and call them out once or twice, including the lead on your case, you will get their attention.
Thanks D1. I usually cc the lead attorney but how do I find out who the Deloitte immigration person is. Perhaps, that's the missing piece
Immigration website or DPN? I know the name, but obviously won't say it here.
Thanks. I think I found it. Same person updated one of the immigration pages on DNet
