I’ve gone through multiple interviews with an agency. Each one went very well. Sent thank you emails to everyone the next day and followed up with the recruiter a week later. I was told they cont.
Recently been interviewing with a firm that pays per billable hour collected. What are the drawbacks of this arrangement besides potential lack of business equaling no or low billables? I feel like I could easily surpass my current salary by going to this hourly firm so I feel like I'm missing something. I already am required to monitor my client's retainer amounts for collectability and have pressure to bill so I just feel like the only difference is I'd make more money.
Hello, colleagues who have exited public accounting. What salary is expected for a senior tax manager role in a software company with about 2 thousand employees?
Currently interviewing for a position at Oliver Wyman- has anyone heard of the Golden Passport program?
Any thoughts on very small private boutique consulting firms? Does this ruin my chances of a career opportunities afterwards? I’m interviewing with a company with 30 employees and I am worried I am digging myself a grave.
Does anyone know what typical work is like in PWC - Financial Education Services ? Asking for the position of an associate
When do most individuals start looking for exit ops? Recently joined the firm as an Associate 2 but ready to leave already
Looking to relocate to the south-east U.S. to be nearer family. Anyone know of any good agencies/clients hiring senior roles at the moment or will be soon? Ideally one that's going hybrid at least. Fully remote also good, but would like to be in the SE so going to the office would be at least an option. And yes, I've looked at LinkedIn, Indeed, Google etc.
With the lateral market as hot as it is, are any firms hiring for reduced hours associates? Do you think they’d still offer any sign on incentives? I figure it’s better to have an extra body doing 1600 (80%) than nobody, right?
Hey, need referral for an intern opening at pwc. Currently in Tier 1 college with multiple internships and extra curricular with high cpga. If anyone is interested in giving me a referral pls let me know
My interview for an internship lasted over an hour. Good or bad sign? It was more of a conversation than anything...
Tips on interviewing with Deloitte? Aside from a case study what other questions should I expect
Hey y’all, got a green light from the interview team and my package is headed to HC. The recruiter asked me to fill out a document with my expected comp for base and equity for the package. (Cont)
Under-utilised since joining boutique three months ago. Not developing at all and periods of no work for me are common (even when I chase up). Other grad hires are in the same position. Time to worry?
Hi folks. Could you please share your experience about your partner interview at Deloitte?
Chase Sapphire reserve statement credit benefit is great. Seems like all qualifying purchases made in last 3 month can be redeemed for statement credit using points at 1.5cents per point. And I dont think you lose the points you earned from those purchases after you redeem for statement credit.
When interviewing have you noticed certain races are harder/easier on us? Me and my friend have noticed a trend and would like to see if this holds across different people.
Anyone here who interviewed with/ work for DoorDash S&O team? Would love to hear your experience and any advice. Thanks!
Disclaimer: I do not find joy in the circumstances I am about to describe. Having said that, I am experiencing minor Schadenfreude in the “I told you so” sense. My ex-wife, who told my kids that the vaccine will turn people into zombies (srs), got the results of her PCR test yesterday and confirmed she has Covid. She has been laid up in bed since Thursday and is miserable. Meanwhile, I got a positive PCR result but am entirely asymptomatic. I do hope she makes a quick recovery.
How many people has EY terminated in the last 3-6 months? I've heard about mass layoffs nationwide and would love to know the truth.
Acn people: Got a generic email from TFS taking about things to do when on the bench, it also mentioned we must now be in the local office everyday, legit or ignore?
I’ve been through 5+ weeks of interviews with a company that will IPO next year and they did a bait and switch on me with the offer: it was advertised as “Head of” and then during the offer-walk-through-meeting today they said “oh btw we changed the title to ‘Senior Manager’ for this role”. They offered me a salary I made 4 years ago as a manager. They offered stock options with an exercise price TBD 1 year from now…which is when they’re hitting IPO. Is that normal for stock options?
Hey guys, i am about to join EY India as a consultant. I am 24 years old. I want to know how can i become the best version of myself with the company? What should i focus on ? How to get the best growth in terms of money and position with EY India ?
What is the best approach for CPA? Get a MBA, MACC or double major in Accounting&Finance get the 150 credit and prepare for the CPA exams?
16 weeks and so worried all of the stress I’m under is going to hurt the baby. Between work, my own scary (non-pregnancy) health stuff, the pandemic, my mom (who is a widow and lives alone, basically isolated by choice due to covid) is having health issues, and pressures to keep billable hours up, I’ve been having complete breakdowns. Today I spent almost the entire day crying and now have to make up the billable time this weekend. I really worry abt what effect this will have on the babe.
Hello, fish friends. Hope you’re having a relaxing weekend. I’m a new community leader for this bowl, and I was wondering — is there anything you’d like to see more of here? Things you’d like to see less of? Anything I can do to help? This bowl has helped me through my own mental health journey, and I hope it’s been beneficial to you, too. 💕
PwC folks! Just curious… are you leaving the firm after you get your bonus this week? Not just thinking about leaving but actually putting in your 2 weeks.
Need some advice regarding an offer I received. I’m approaching the one year mark in audit (October). I received a $65k accounting job offer in MCOL city with a tech company. The job will be a mix of accounting, budgeting/forecasting, and other ad hoc reporting. Does this sound like a good opportunity given my experience and background (Big 4, reputable university)?
Worth using a recruiter? Pros and cons? I'm trying to switch from being a general litigator to a specialize a bit. Curious if it would be beneficial to use a recruiter in this situation since they'll need to sell me a bit. Or is it just cost prohibitive at this point and I'd have a better chance applying on my own.
Thoughts on reaching out to the recruiter of a LinkedIn job posting when applying? Does it look desperate/inappropriate?
Any recommendations for a portable second monitor? Ideally something that would fit in a carry-on? Since I’m still WFH, I’m taking a week-long trip to visit my sister. We’ll both be working during the week and I’d like to avoid working only from a laptop if I can.
