My wlb is amazing. I work 45ish hours a week with essentially no stress. Tons of flexibility. Mid size biotech. It was 100% worth it for me.
Wlb non existent after a certain level is just not true.. my MDs tried to sell me on that as a reason to stay 😂 it was total BS
I am senior consultant up for manager and thinking about wlb as I know that being a manager is going to essentially take away wlb from my role with a ton of BD thrown at me or at least I think that is the expectation. I interview at small to mid size diagnostics biotech and a lot of people I interviewed with said it was fast paced and lot of work so that made me wonder what assoc dir and dir roles look like if I jump the ship. On a side note, they will probably offer me senior manager which I am considering on settling on for some ramp up time in case I struggle. Also not sure what the expectations are from assoc for and what their role charter is. Would love to know more about those roles and performance goals in case you are willing to share. Thanks
Currently a global director in industry. WLB is really good. Most weeks is about 45hrs. The only pain is that I have meetings sometimes at 5:30am and 9pm because of international time zones. But the people are great (much better then most of the consulting firms I have worked for). And the work is much more interesting then anything at BAH.
