Do hotels not give you night credits or points if you book via a third party like chase travel? Wondering specifically about Hilton

Nope, gotta book directly

Depends on the 3rd party and the specific rates. Usually the cheap rate through a travel site or credit card rewards is a no-loyalty-points rate. Best way to get points and a cheap rate is going through a travel agent. If you find a cheaper rate later, they can usually get your booking matched, and you’ll still earn your loyalty points.

My H1B visa transfer with EY has been approved. We have received the e-approval. Can I now resign or give notice at my current firm? The guidance apparently is to wait for physical copy of the approval before officially resigning. But that date is uncertain and I’m afraid I could get the physical copy a day before my start date or a week after that. I’d like to give my firm around two weeks notice and I am scheduled to start on 27th Sept. Thoughts? As usual, radio silence from my EY recruiter.

I’m really keen to go the MM but feel like I’m making a mistake the way my friends talk about it…. In my mind a small younger growing fund is such a better opportunity — more learning, exposure, promotional potentially, and, hopefully, culture. What am I missing?

I'm a Microsoft Dynamics and C# Developer at a Big 4 consulting firm. But... working with Dynamics for the last 5 or 6 years is starting to wear on me. The salary is great because there is a shortage of qualified Dynamics developers, but I want to do something else, even if that's just back to being a run of the mill C# Developer. Maybe this is more of a rant or I'm letting off steam, but has anybody on here ever essentially gone from a specialized type of roll to more general role?

Just curious. What is expected salary fixed for 7+ yoe in DS. In initial interview discussion I quoted 21 and ambition box, LinkedIn and glassdoor suggests around 28-35. Will HR always refer this figure or should I request more, i don’t want to get below market standard.

Have any of you had trouble getting interviews at startups due to them wanting more startup experience? I've worked on many greenfield projects for clients and more mature projects, so I'm not sure why I wouldn't be a good candidate. The funny thing is when you look at the bios for some of these founders and see just how inexperienced many of them are. One's bio was basically the list of clubs he belonged to in college.
