Do hybrid roles actually exist anymore because all I'm currently seeing are fully office-based roles? I miss the days where working from home became the norm for a while *sigh*

It’s crazy that we’re going back to completely in office after proving that we can do this for years already. Someone make it make sense

like

Agreed but then always looking for cost savings when its obvious they should downsize these spaces and just allow us to continue working from home

Hybrid is maybe a Friday WFH every other week. Rarely see it 3/2 anymore. Miss seeing more remote roles, too. Do you think they’ll come back? I’m hopeful that if the market goes back to favor the employee, we might see more.

That’s why I’m so hesitant when I say the hybrid label. No idea what it actually means to them.

Top 10 firm, still only required in person 2 days/week and very flexible. (Sometimes more or less depending on client and team.)

We can't go back to fully office based. We downsized all of our offices, so not enough space for everyone to be there every day. Some of us work frequently at client offices, but still, on a daily basis, there wouldn't be enough space.

I was laid off from my wfh job bc they outsourced our jobs to india and thanks god I found a job . Started the first week of jan let me tell you i cried the first two weeks bc of traffic and miss so much my remote job ! Lol i applied to at least 60 jobs and nothing !!!!

I’m so sorry to hear that, it sounds really really awful. The additional time and COST of travelling to and from the office every day is insane. Hope you can find a remote job soon enough!

I work for a small firm and work 3 days in office, 2 days at home year round. Post tax season I plan on adjusting my schedule to half days on the days I’m in office and working the rest from home.

Yes, my boss wants us to have schedules that allow us to be efficient with our time and get our work done. I have a 45 min one way commute so cutting down on that commute time helps me be more efficient with my time. It’s a very small but growing firm and my boss is former B4 and strongly values flexibility.

I work heavily in AWS and am looking to learn another cloud platform. I have zero knowledge of azure and gcp and would like input on which to learn. Azure would make sense since its the second largest in terms of market share, but GCP seems far more interesting and technically challenging with things like Kubernetes and BigQuery.
