Since you’re unemployed you have nothing to loose really. May be a good way to pivot career path if you don’t like what you last did.

I agree with this. It’d be an entirely different situation if you had a job, which in that case, if you felt this strongly then I’d advise don’t take the new job.
Since you are sans job, there’s no risk here. You have an opportunity for an income. Take it. And if you end up realizing it’s not a good fit, you can leave.
This sounds a lot like a leap I took about 15 years ago. I was scared stiff (I was the breadwinner of our low income family of 4). My husband urged me to do it - he said, “if you don’t you will always wonder - and if it doesn’t work out, well, we’ve been poorer than this before. We will survive.” Seems like you have even more to gain and less to lose than I did. It was the best decision I have ever made. I learned and grew so much in that startup environment and am more more financially secure today than I could have ever been at my old company.

Thank you for this! Glad that the move panned out for you!

The concept of risk means you have something to lose. If you don't have a job or another offer, I'm not entirely sure I see the risk element.

Then take the role, it's a startup and we're in a pandemic. It's an easy story to tell if you need to jump after 6 months.
You learn a lot on the go in those environments. Try it out and if you want something more stable afterwards you still have a good experience to put on your resume

If you are unemployed, it seems like a no brainier to take the job. Is there a different job that's a better fit that you're choosing between?

I just recently became unemployed so it’s not like I’ve been waiting for months.
This is the first offer I’ve received so wondering if it’s worth taking now rather than risking waiting and continuing to interview elsewhere (for positions that don’t necessarily move the needle much more for me but I have experience in).

What E1 said.
Yes, startup experience early in your career will be good. You can transition to a larger tech /startup after
curious to learn more about your interviewing process if you're comfortable sharing (I'm interested in start ups!). can I send you a dm?

How long is the runway you have until finances become an issue? Because you're young, doing work that is aligned to your career path could be helpful, so you can identify what you like and don't like in a career. Being young also means you can afford to experiment and take risks like with the startup, and you still have business school as a reset button option just in case.
