Are there PhDs here who transitioned to consulting at MBB, EY-P, Altman Solon etc. I am a PhD candidate ( Earth Sciences) at UIUC and have begun seriously considering a career in consulting. I am looking for advice and/or mentorship on: 1. Crafting a consulting resume and cover letter 2. Networking as an advanced degree, how important it is? While I am in touch with some consultants from my academic background, I haven’t looked at the relationship as a potential referral as of yet.
For folks who have left MBB to go to another role in consulting or industry, what typically matters more, total YOE or the level at which you leave MBB? Also are YOE at MBB/consulting typically valued as more valuable than YOE elsewhere when applying for exit ops?
RSM/BDO/GT hiring experienced associates for FDD/TAS? Looking online and only see senior associates. Looking to jump to FDD service line
So with a Mixed skill of project management and functional system implementation experience, what exit opportunities can I pursue?
I just accepted a position with KPMG's Advisory Practice. Any insight about culture/worklife balance, leadership, expectations, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
Browsing through some tech role exit opportunities out there. Which of these three companies would you rather work for? HubSpot, Salesforce, or Charles Schwab?
Currently at 2.5 yoe. Is it worth it to apply for strategy associate/analyst positions or business analyst positions, etc? Hoping to find a high growth position that pays well
Hi all. I got a verbal offer for an internal position last week on Tuesday. I was expecting paperwork late last week and I haven’t received yet. I messaged the hiring manager yesterday but no response. Any advice? I have some personal deadlines so would like to get information ASAP
I recently started (5/mo ago) at a new agency and everything is a 180 from my last role and I’m honestly getting discouraged. Everything from pitching style and media approach to the types of clients (I was told in the interview process I was going to be working with some clients but that has totally shifted) and I feel like my experience and expertise is both not valued and ideas shot-down at every turn. How can I turn this experience around?
I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.
Does anyone know of anywhere still hiring strategists or creative strategists? Or Content writers?
Current open roles at EPAM (growing software engineering firm) below. DM me if you are interested/would like a referral. All roles are remote and open to global applicants!
Is it appropriate to send a gift to a friend who referred you for an in house role? (Got the role) thanks!
I had a job interview recently where the hiring manager interrogated me for 30 minutes and didn’t leave any time for me to ask questions. It felt slightly disrespectful, but I’m not sure if that’s a legit red flag. Thoughts?
Currently recruiting with Deloitte GPS for a Design position. Hoping for some advice with the process especially what they’re looking for technically 😩 Deloitte
2nd Year TMT IB Analyst here at a small, no-name boutique looking to break into GE / PE in NY. Been networking and applying to jobs. Have gotten into a number of interview processes but wondering if I should try to get into a smaller buyside shop then lateral before B school or after B school - any thoughts? Also, would love to hear how I can best differentiate myself?
I’m looking at the possibility of using Book Taco in my classroom. Has anyone used it? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
Hi Everyone, I am new to this platform but was silently observing the post here, need some guidance and support on career change. I come from Non-Tech (Non BE, B.Tech degree) and have been working in Support (Back office) role in Domain ranging from Logistics, Insurance and Reinsurance. From last 1 years I've been upskilling for Cloud (AWS) and DevOps (Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker etc) and currently looking for a change.
Currently onboarding to a new role, at a global bank, and they are asking for a termination letter from a previous consulting employer from 2 years ago. I provided the background check company proof that I was eligible for unemployment since I did not get fired; it was due to performance, too technical for me. However I do not have any letter stating why I was let go. I have been requesting a letter for over 2 weeks from the employer but they’re not answering. Do I have to provide this ?
Does anyone know whether Deloitte would help to obtain LMIA when your work permit/visa is about to expire? I’m at the junior level and not eligible for any streams yet.

Did you ever have thoughts of divorce within the first year of your child’s life? This has been so difficult (not parenting, but managing our marital issues) and even with therapy it has not gotten any better.
Has anyone ever been to the delta hotel by Marriott nayarit? My SO wants to go to an all inclusive so there's less vacation stress with planning meals and such. What are your thoughts on negotiating a salary for an internal promotion? My boyfriend thinks that I absolutely have to negotiate, but I’m inclined to just accept the first offer... am I doing myself a disservice?
Midwest associates, how much do you feel the classic big law tropes (e.g. hours, partner demands, culture, etc.) apply to you? Do you find the job to be less demanding than it is for our coastal colleagues? I do, but I’m wondering if that is true for others. Feel free to reply if you’re from Chicago, but I’m mainly interested in cities like Indy, Mpls, Detroit, Milwaukee, KC, Cleveland, etc.
Do any moms work from home and have their baby at home with them? If so, how do you do it??? I have a 3 month old at home and my husband has her while I work upstairs but he goes back to work from his leave in a couple of weeks and I’ll be home to be with her and work. I’m nervous about it and just want to see what options I have - external childcare is not one of them at the moment.
Downtown Philly: Element vs Aloft vs Autograph Notary vs Westin vs other higher end Marriott properties in the downtown area for about 40k Bonvoy points? And…Element vs Autograph collection in general? Not real familiar with these sub brands.
I’m an in-house litigator interested in transitioning to a hybrid litigation (50%) and diversity and inclusion (50%) role. Career suicide? Will it work or will I end up doing 2 jobs?
