What percentage of your money do you save, invest, allocate to retirement, & spend?

Invest: as much as I need to meet my goals
Retirement: Same
Spend: as much as I want to make me happy

Always saved 50%, invest 10-20%, Retirement 5-10%, Spend the rest

So, right now I “save” 52%. It goes to investments and paying down debt aggressively.

Retirement is 20%

Don’t know the other numbers off the top of my head.

As % of gross salary:
- 12% to 401k
- 20% to high yield savings or 1-2 year CDs

Make $120k living in Chicago

Monthly:

- 13% goes to 401K
- 2% to low interest debt
- 5% investing
- 9% savings (house deposit)

I have $20k in savings, I owe $6,000 to my 401k loan, that’s the only loan I got. I am debt free otherwise except for my house. Should I use my savings to pay off? Since people are talking about unemployment and being fired, I wanted to make sure I have enough, 👩🏾‍💻... What should I do? I initially took the loan to add to my home equity when I sell my house for a new house then covid hit.

So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach. How do you deal with firing guilt? Is that a thing? I can't help but feeling like I did something wrong.
