Do you guys just ever directly email your resume to a partner at a firm you’re looking to work for rather than go through a recruiter? I can’t deal with recruiters anymore.

Shoot your shot, but it's more effective if you can "prime the partner" by connecting with an alum from your school who works at the same firm and can state they've chatted with you, and you're very interested in X.

Yes! I’ve gotten two jobs and a summer internship this way. Shoot your shot.

I am a clinical research coordinator working in Austin, Texas. I have my Masters in Cell & Molecular Biology and have a year of laboratory research experience.

I’ve been in my position for 5 months now. I make $27 hourly which amounts to about $51,000 yearly. Am I being under paid? Are all coordinator positions hourly? As a laboratory researcher I was salary :(

How do I go about asking for a raise or should I explore other companies or medical schools that have clinical research?

How do you folks feel about paying for servicing? Paying a few hundred bucks every few years is a big nut.

For those watching their home value - which is best? Zillow or Redfin? I’m watching mine to see what equity I have to refi and potentially get PMI removed. Zillow is current showing home value at about 20K less than Redfin. Are there any other tools I could be using? Thanks.

How do firms calculate how much parental leave to provide, either paid or unpaid. We get four weeks paid and four weeks unpaid. Would like to push for more but not sure how to argue costs side of it.

I'm in a litigation, about 9 months in. Is it normal that I spend majority of my time making bundles for my partners (printing, binding, moving docs in a different order whenever there are new documents or he wants to add stuff) reviewing documents and making tables (e.g. dates, which documents are from where), and the only legal work is like notices of admission, list of documents, the occasional research? I'm so bored and I want to quit but I don't know if I have unrealistic expectations.
