Do you see any benefit of getting extra certificates that people add to their name at work?

Not really. If anything you may pick up some knowledge from doing the certificate which could help, but I wouldn’t get them just to add on to the list.

Thank you for your reply. I was kind of thinking that way.

Why not? If you're going to pay for it, I'll add it to my resume.

Thank you for your reply! I totally agree!

Well it depends on what kind of certification. So if you are in Supply Chain, know that there are 100s of certifications/courses available.

That said, if your goal is just to learn, consider cheaper MOOCs such as MITx Supply Chain courses on edX. Highly recomend taking 1 at a time. The courses can also help if you are trying to apply for Masters in select Universities including MIT.

If you want your certificate to add value to your profile for your next job search, consider APICS/ASCM certificates. They have 4 paths now but CPIM and CSCP are the mosf popular.

I’ve seen a bevy of certs online, thank you!

Are there any good movies or novels that show skill development - like follow through? Self-management? Money management? I read a lot of self help books so I know a lot of the theory, and books peppered with examples help, but I feel like most 1 paragraph examples don’t five justice to how hard it may be to change a behavior.

I have an offer to do some consulting for a company based out of the UK (I am in the US). The job would not go through a consulting company but would be directly with the company. I have not done any consulting before so I am not sure how it works, what I would need to set up (they mentioned that I would start a LLC and bill them directly, no idea how to do that), how to determine the tax implications of this, or what hourly rate I would expect. Can anyone offer advice?

It’s very discouraging to continuously receive these rejection emails. With 9 years of supply chain experience, I am not sure why I would not be able to at least get an interview for entry level roles that require no experience. Not just this one pictured but others as well. I’ve applied to maybe 60 positions since May, both mid level and “entry” and no interviews. I’ve had my resume professionally re-written twice. Not sure where the disconnect is. Anyone else going through this same thing?
