Do you think union rules slow things down unnecessarily? On one production, we lost nearly an entire day waiting for mandated turnarounds and meal breaks, and the producers wouldn’t stop complaining that the union rules were “killing efficiency.” But I’ve also been on a non-union shoot where people were pushed into dangerous, exhausting conditions, and honestly, I’d take the delays over that any day. I get the tension, but safety matters.

Has anyone considered joining a private social club (e.g., Union Club, City Club)? If so why are the pros you’ve found and if you considered and decided against, why?

One of the major challenges I've encountered in starting a union in my workplace is that people who are woke enough to know we need one are also the ones smart enough to jump ship.

So the public unions have tried to divert funds for new students, wishing to attend private schools in Calif... any other states preventing school choice?
