Do you think your counterparts in brand strat, creative and account truly understand and appreciate what you do?

I’ll be honest if you don’t mind.

I think I dislike comms planning because of how the work is delivered, how unsurprising it is, etc. it’s often boring, straightforward, and detailed - perfect for an email or PowerPoint to review, but just a waste of my time to sit in a meeting on since I can read.

It’s also lacking in rigor and is often simplistic compared to the work being done in experience design/UX.

The best ones I’ve see just show how the campaign will work without a whole additional set of frameworks and strategies attached

@SD1 - I think you are referring to media planning? Often “Comms Planning” is simply media planning given a fancy name. I’d love to hear your honest opinion on how experience design interacts with brand planning as I think that’s really what OP is asking.

As a comms/engagement planner that has worked on agency-side, client-side, and freelance, my current agency has no idea what to do with me. I've had the most success educating brand and media counterparts on what I do but account has a hard time figuring out where I fit in their existing process and CDs will dictate their own creative exploration separate from positioning research that you do

Anyone lateraled at the 2-4 year mark from boutique (40ish lawyers, corporate lit work on same level as biglaw, making top NY pay) to v100? Can you say anything about the experience? The reason I’m considering is while boutique is generally a good place for me as an associate (NY pay, reasonable WLB, good experience on many fronts) there’s basically zero shot at making partner.

Stern is way more than a finance school. Given its location, do you want to spend your 2 years in a rural area or heart of Manhattan? Location is almost everything for business school. (I have a friend in Cornell that frequently travels about 5 hours to NYC for events.)

Hi all, does anyone have a good framework they would recommend for developing HCP/physician communication strategies and defining tactics for HCP engagement (outside of pharma reps)? There is of course a ton out there for patient communications such as patient journey mapping but engaging HCPs is a very different beast. Looking for something a bit more nuanced than a traditional consumer framework. Thanks!
