Pandora has a much larger audience than most people give it credit for.
A job is a job. But I’m curious... who’s using pandora?
Spotify is gaining on them in every facet of Pandora's business. Pandora will be on life support soon
Do you have a job now that's better? Do you have another offer? If not, you can always take it and look again a little later, while also learning something. It's for you to answer these questions. Nothing will ever be perfect and you should never expect it to be. Recipe for a happier life!
Thanks AD that's Prob the best advice.
Actually OP, this May ease your fears some...the first question I had for my team at Pandora when they announced their pay model was, “how is this going to affect my audience?” While they will use it as a money maker, they don’t expect it to be THE money maker especially given what they make off advertisers. With regard to programmatic, this is a good ground level opportunity for you. I’ve worked off and on with them to include them in a PMP I was building. They want people who are willing to help them catch up from that perspective, especially where audio is concerned.
A buddy left my agency to go to Pandora. Seems to like it! Working with them as a publisher is always a good experience.
That's what I was thinking. Like what is a career job now days. It's just a job
I feel it's ok but other than that meh
Thanks for. Your answer DMD. But I just want to be cautious. Cuz their stock is down. New ceo in place. And projected 2020 plan needs to get over 20 plus subs in order for them. To turn a profit. Just wanna see if it's worth it.
OP, how about focus on what you'll learn and skills you'll put on your resume. Brand name is not important and sounds like you're at the start of your career, nobody is going to care about your 1-2 year stint at Pandora ten years from now. If it's a learning experience, take it. We don't know the particulars of your background, the specific job, and your future career goals, if you've even set any clear ones. But I hope it's not money/prestige driven, that's a shell
I guess what I'm saying is I'm trying to get more into programmatic and I don't see how it could help because down the line, it's better to know more tools, dsps, etc. Over one proprietary tool. If that makes sense.
