I do east coast to Europe weekly - it’s not that bad
It’s terrible when you come back from west to east on Thursday . Commit less on Fridays
Reframing this: i’d prefer that to 10 or more hours per week in my car commuting across Atlanta.
Agreed to the commit less on Fridays. Also, orient your body to west coast time, and stay on that even when east coast (if at all possible). I did that route for a year
C1 - and going East is much harder
And it’s great for status and miles 👌🏻. Can hit top tier in 4-5 months
good luck. get good headphones. friday’s will suck. make friends in california it will save you
Was doing that for a month, Sunday red eyes and Friday afternoon flights. Not great. If you can stay weekends or do M-Th only, that’d be ideal.
Did LA to NYC for 4 years and it’s not that bad. Agree with keeping your body on work location time zone to make it easier.
I do sfo or sjc to bos and/or jfk every week
It’s not terrible, the sun in LA saved me from depressing east coast winter. Weekends were spent recuperating from red eye flights on Thurs. try to fly by 4pm pst so you can sleep in your own bed. If you feel exhausted, spend a weekend over on the west coast once in awhile.
@op are you flying Monday-Thursday? ... I’m currently flying sun-Friday for the last 2 months and that is burning me out
its not that bad tbh
Currently doing East Coast to London every week and the travel is ruining me...
Would recommend also asking for at least one “off week” so you can recharge every 6 wks or so. Also consider staying out on West coast for a wknd to eliminate the back and forth.
BCG1 a going east- I sleep on the overnight flight. So when I wake up and land , I do my days work
