Does anyone else feel like after enough interviews, your answers to the same behavioral questions start sounding a little too polished? I’ve noticed that after repeating the same stories over and over, I start to sound more scripted than natural, even when I’m trying not to. It’s a weird balance because you want to be prepared but not come across like a robot. Curious how others keep their answers fresh without losing the structure.

I have noticed this, BUT I try to adapt my answers to what I hear from them. For example, when they give you background on themselves/the firm/the role, they are giving you the blueprint of what is important to them.

It also shows you are actively listening if you adapt to what they are telling you in real time.

As others have said, I’d try to adapt it a little more to the job/company you’re interviewing for. This should help make it less robotic and keep you thinking!

What is your understanding of the norms around whose names end up on a brief/complaint/motion papers etc.? I’m a midlevel at an AmLaw 20 firm and have twice been the principal drafter of something only to be cut from the signature block. I’m pretty torn on whether I want to take an offer for an internal role or not…
The job itself sounds pretty interesting. Lots of opportunity for growth (eventually will build out a team).

My only concern is the hiring manager. I talked to someone in my network who has worked with him in the past and she told me that she would 100% work with him again bc she learned a lot, but that he has a very dominant personality and that some ppl can butt heads with him.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Thoughts on Citi's Leveraged Portfolio Group at the Analyst level? I'm curious if anyone has additional details on the group for an Analyst spot. Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].
