"You are one of two candidates in the final round.

One thing we haven’t spoken about are your salary expectations. Could you have a think and let me know early next week as well as your employment status (residency permit)."

My current position seems stable but no room for growth and also a disorganized mess, not a very mature legal department. On one hand I’m the only that knows what they’re doing on the other hand i would like to go somewhere where I can learn more how a mature legal department should operate within a legally savvy business. But seems like a risky move in this economic climate?

What are folks thoughts on nuclear power? I have heard there are many detractors. Before getting into consulting, I was trained to operate a nuclear power plant on a submarine and learned about this excellent source of energy.

The main issues I see with it are the initial upfront costs to setup (with the cheapest generation costs thereafter), and disposal of nuclear waste (which some new technologies are being developed to reuse the waste in a different kind of reactor).

I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??
