Does anyone have an idea of what your income looks like as a partner in big law? Curious about both equity and non equity.

If you just want a range, it’s something like $350K base maybe $500K all in for a first year partner. Equity is higher than that and up to a $1MM (and obviously multiples more for rainmakers).

Canadian firms are notoriously cagey about comp so I’m sure all the big firms are all over the place for what the details are.

My understanding is that a first year NEP at a Seven Sister firm makes around 400k all in.

Hi everyone Google ,

I am facing interview trouble.
1. First round of interview has done
2. 2nd was scheduled on 1 july but interviewer did not join. After a few mails to hr and recruitment team one hr replied that they will reschedule it, and asked me for possible dates.

Since then i am waiting for the interview schedule as all of my given dates have been passed. I don't know how to deal with it as I don't want to miss the opportunity.

Been having trouble moving on since girlfriend ended relationship 3 weeks ago after 2+ years of dating. Before ending it she came over 3 weeks prior to basically give me a chance to work things out and we had a good discussion but then I went back into our routine and didn’t really fight for it or have serious follow up convos that we needed. Now I just have so many regrets that I let her go. I know we still love each other and left on “good” terms but can’t forgive myself for my lack of action.

I really wish the big law firms in Canada were as transparent about their pay and bonus scales as what we are seeing in the US. Does any Canadian firm share bonus scales??

I’m a junior litigation lawyer based in Windsor looking to lateral to corporate big law. I have been doing commercial litigation, tax litigation, and tax planning. I’ve done corporate reorganization, corporate structuring, rollovers so corporate would not be completely new to me. I did a solicitor rotation during articling and was involved with several m&a deals. Has anyone managed to make the jump from litigation in Windsor to Toronto big law corporate? Your advice is greatly appreciated.
