I’ve been at my clerkship for 5 years (4 with a different judge) and one with my current judge, and I heard horrible things about him before starting, but I assumed they were exaggerated. Turns out they’re all true, and I’ve had to start therapy to deal with him and the incredibly toxic environment. I’m trying to get out ASAP b/c he also has a history of firing clerks without cause or notice, but I think I’ll only be able to give two weeks notice if i get the job I’m interviewing for. Thoughts?

I am on a team that manages relationships with the banks that hold brokerage accounts for a large Asset Management firm. I have gained an enormous amount of experience (relationship mgmt, project mgmt, analysis), and compensation is decent - $85k base with $25k bonus - but I have no idea what my top earning potential would be if I switched companies or pursued another role. What is the best way to find out?

I am in my early 40's and have about $300K invested and some in cash. I have $70K in credit card debt (no lavish lifestyle, just 2 bouts of unemployment and some major medical expenses, even after insurance).

I live below my means, LCOL city, used car, max my 401K, save my bonuses, etc.

I am going to get a large bonus where after tax, I'll get a couple hundred thousand.

Should I prioritize pay off all credit cards or pay down half/some of the cards and use the rest for a house down payment?
