The Beyond Leasing team at BLG allows you to work fully remote, however, that does not apply to the rest of the firm.

What’s your practice area and where do you currently work? A lot of Bay Street firms are desperate first or mid-level corporate associates so you may be able to negotiate something

When and how do you push back on people senior to you? Fifth year dealing with supersenior associate (11th year) who completely lacks good judgment & common sense. One of those super smart but impractical types. As just one example, he recently called me to tell me to call someone who’s on vacation and ask them to send a calendar invite. I offered to send myself but apparently that wouldn’t work (presumably because it would be efficient & make sense.) At what point (and how) do I Just Say No?

I’m a junior litigation lawyer based in Windsor looking to lateral to corporate big law. I have been doing commercial litigation, tax litigation, and tax planning. I’ve done corporate reorganization, corporate structuring, rollovers so corporate would not be completely new to me. I did a solicitor rotation during articling and was involved with several m&a deals. Has anyone managed to make the jump from litigation in Windsor to Toronto big law corporate? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

How difficult would it be for a well-credentialed US lawyer (approx 7 YOE) to qualify and practice in Toronto?
