Does anyone have experience with working with Stout Rissius Ross? Specifically within their Accounting advisory division? What is the work like and how are the hours as well as compensation?

Moved over from Big4 about a year ago. I’m not in the ARA group, but overall the switch has been great for me. Better hours (never working weekends), stronger internal culture, very transparent leadership. My comp is currently higher than at Big4, but I anticipate that could change over time (which is fine for me). Anyone from senior manager and up can buy into the firm, which I view as a great perk. Something to factor in which could be a negative depending on your view: We have a PE investor. So far the PE investor has not been a negative in my personal experience, though I’ve only been here a year.

Building out a new function at my company, top 15 bank in the US, and scheduled a 90 minute meeting last week for today. Invite included an agenda and a teams link to the document we would be reviewing. Also asked for attendees to review ahead. 20 minutes in, my co-worker exclaims while I’m mi-sentence we should meet Thurs. after having a chance to review content… WHAT?! What should I have done in that situation?

Hi all, I see a lot of posts here where one person is having quite a few offers and negotiating the salary based on the the best offer in hand.
1. On what grounds will the recruiter offer you a better pay. Will this not create a negative impression?
2. Can i start looking out for jobs after i put down my papers considering my skills are Snowflake, Informatica, IICS, SQL, API with 8 YOE
3.What salary should I target for the above experience and skills.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Curious what others think about this: a friend of mine has a couple of months of leave this fall to study for the CPA exam (they’ll be paid a reduced salary during their leave), but they mentioned they have no intention of studying for the exam, and instead plan to use that time to look for another job. This rubs me the wrong way, but wanted to hear what others think…
