Does anyone here have any tips for keeping pacifiers from dropping out of baby’s crib? Don’t want to do a paci attached to a stuffed animal or a mesh bumper, because neither are considered safe, but I’m losing my mind putting the pacis back in 10 times a night.

With my first, we put in 10-15 a night

We also practiced during the day with both of our kids and had them find them and put them in. Between that and a lot of pacifiers, they eventually found them.

At 7 months old, my little one finds her pacifier in her crib at night and sticks it into her mouth lol

Are you putting multiple in there?

Might need to double up 🤣 “paci playground” is really the safest way to avoid adding anything dangerous

Last week I had to explain to my child what “politics” (as in office politics) is. My child is going to a new high school and wants to play volleyball. There was a 3 day open “tryout” for incoming freshman for 2 teams. After the first day, she noticed that
1) there were obvious favorites (coaches are not even hiding that fact);
2) some can’t even play and got on the team,
3) some that can obviously play but did not get on the team;
4) decision were obviously made before the first day was over.

Recently got my child's passport renewed. Child is minor so effectively a new passport. Here is the timeline, with just regular service.

6/2 Applied in person at the local county office
6/6 The application reached the State Dept
7/9 Got email that status changed to Approved
7/12 Received the new passport

End to end, a little more than 5 weeks. "Routine service can take 8-11 weeks" is the standard disclaimer. It's all good people!

2) would you recommend owning a car or would public transport be sufficient?
3) How does child care work (nanny/daycare)?
4) Is there an option to hire help for regular cooking, household chores, etc? If yes, what are the prices charged?

What are some side gigs people have done that they wouldn't pursue again today? Are there any you'd still go for, but would approach completely differently?

Thinking along the lines of:
- Platforms you'd keep away from
- Gigs that people have missed the boat on by now or instead that have just taken off only now
- Specific hustles that aren't worth the upfront cost/hassle in setting up or that are super hard to hire for
- Policies/attitudes you'd adopt going into things this time around

Does anyone know if we can reimburse expenses for items listed in Wageworks while on maternity?

I know we cannot expense phone/internet/ commuter benefit as I am not actively doing work.

However, for other items that fall under wage works reimbursement, I couldn’t find anything in writing yet.

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.

Based on the Gross salary offered I have calculated the in hand salary per month would be around 152000 considering 150000 in 80C, 50000 in NPS and 200000 deductions due to home loan interest. Total tax liability is around 400000. Any other options do I have to save tax further (other than HRA, LTA)? Thanks in advance.
