The EU doesn’t care about your US visa (as you can probably guess). You’ll probably need a transit visa if you fly through any of the European airports on your way to India.
It won’t be a problem, only the nationalities in the screenshot above require the transit visa (as well as some specific per country, but Netherlands doesn’t require Indians)
Many years ago this was an issue. This is not a stupid question.
When you had an expired H1 on an Indian passport they would not let you transit in frankfurt for example
This is no longer an issue
Yes it’s on the Lufthansa website and the Germany embassy.
It was also a post a couple of months ago here
Luftansa didn’t let me friend board from Chicago last year due to expired h1
He had to book United at the airport paying $600 more
Thank you guys for sharing the experiences. It seems there is ambguity in this and i so i will play it safe an go with our Arab friends!
Lufthansa and Air France should be Okay now. Air Canada and British Airways you still need transit visa or stamped visas for Shenghen or Canadian tourist when you have expired H1. The whole idea here is that if an airline has allowed you to go one way, they have to other way. So in case you dont get h1 stamped and still get on flight, you become public charge at these transit hubs. Lufthansa realised that Arab friends are taking over business, so they have relaxed the policy.
easy assumption. you only transit using Air Canada to enter US. 9 out of 10 times, the flight option would not be the best. Most border town folks will use Air Canada. Border town folks will have Canadian visa in most cases. Others may but it wont be the best option.
