Does anyone know of any firms that may hire part-time audit staff? Ideally I am looking for part-time hours (say 30-40 hours a week). I would basically just want to be a staff level and prepare/improve workpapers, perform testing, etc. I have 5 YOE in audit so I think I could be beneficial as I wouldn't need my hand held, do things right the first time, etc.- I could be a resource for tasks to free up those who are staffed to engagements. Has anyone ever seen a position like this? Thoughts?

Medicaid plans are so dysfunctional. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I’m being gas lighted after working for big commercial enterprises and now working on a Medicaid plan. I’ve never seen so much resistance to change or legit resistance to doing anything to improve operations.

Growing up was rough. On my 8th birthday my dad had an accident that led to this death a few days later. He was a good man who took care of us all (I had 3 siblings now 2; lost 1 few years ago). I'm in a good place in life right now I only find myself in the last 5years shedding a tear once a while when I'm alone. So I get that in a corporate set up, you are supposed to be sharp and witty and think on your feet. Trouble is, I am extremely slow with comebacks. (Think Ross in Friends/Amy in B99) at the crunch moment, I generally end up not being able to give a good roast back. Unfortunately the best of them come to me like a few hours later (dinner/shower/TV) and I am left ruing and amazing opportunity to have gotten one back. I am awful at jibes and roasts.
