I don’t see what’s wrong with at least asking, just prepared to hear some scathing feedback, or hear nothing at all.
There is no harm in asking for feedback, and it shows how serious you are about the role. However, my experience of recruiters/interviewers is that they very rarely give honest feedback - it's like if you lose a pitch, then they always tell you it was really close and you came second...
There are legal reasons for why they are reluctant to give you candid feedback. I actually have to disagree with director 1. I wouldn’t use the word scathing, although it’s not impossible. Often times you’re a fine candidate but they just think someone else is a better “fit” but they may truly have though highly of you. Hiring is incredibly subjective, superficial, and qualitative. I wouldn’t sweat it
You can try.
When I use a recruiter they give feedback but it's always generic, like "didn't seem engaged" or some bullshit.
I have had an interview go sideways and not get the offer, but the person interviewing me gave me a business card and said if I needed a career mentor they would help me which was odd.
