I personally would give them what you’re looking for and/or a baseline number. It saves you, the recruiter, and the company time. You avoid wasting time going through the interview process if the salary doesn’t align with what you’re looking for.
Ask for a range if they don't disclose look on glassdoor
Def so both are not waisting time. Always give a range.
I typically ask what the salary range is first and go from there. But also, do your research to see what’s market/typical for the role you’re going after. If they ask again, then give them a number within their range, if it makes sense to you.
