Does BCG always ask people rejected in final rounds to reapply? Just found out I was "barely" eliminated from the pool to receive an offer at the W. European BCG office where I've been interviewing for the past 5(!) months as an industry hire. The rep said it was "really close" and they'd be "delighted" to see me again in a year, but I don't know to what extent that's just the usual BCG niceness vs an actual recommendation. Would it be worth it to try again or are they just letting me down easy?

I applied for another GS07 job, was accepted, I took it, but I believe I can do better. I have a master’s and have extra graduate research experience.
