In all those areas you listed C2, it is very helpful to speak the home country’s language rather than English and the employees of those companies also residents of those countries will accept you much easier than if you do not.
Signed, someone who traveled across 4 continents doing business for years.
Yes but they won't respect you, they'll trash talk you in front of you, and seduce your significant other
All that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Paris

Can’t speak for BCG but at McKinsey fluency in (one of) the country’s language(s) is almost always mandatory for transfers.
Absolutely not. You must speak french. If you are interviewing, your case interviews will be conducted in french as well. I have worked at BCG Paris
Sure. We hire people in the US who can’t speak English
For consulting roles...

My French classmates were pissed lol.
J - was for BCG. Individual transferred immediately after receiving the offer, during P5, from another large (high-demand) office. BCG accepted the transfer request.
Absolutely not. But, if you learn French then you will be eligible .

France has a ministry dedicated to preservation of its language and laws on the books regarding the share of broadcast radio songs which must be in French. It has a long-term youth unemployment rate of ~20%
So the answer is absolutely f*cking not
Bumping this question, but for someone who is at B2 level French. If I can handle a case in French, would that be sufficient probably?
