What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.

Yes we do. You’ll be hard pressed to get a cold referral from any of us. Ultimately, your success is tied to our reputation. That far outweighs any monetary referral bonus. Try mining your personal and professional network for referral sources
OP instead of trying right away for a referral, maybe see if someone is willing to put you in touch with a contact you can have a conversation with to learn more about their practice and practice needs. I have talked with people that used that approach in the past. Some I have referred in, some we both ended up recognizing it would not be a good fit.
It’s a weird time to try for H1 jobs. I got into a MBB last year. My transfer is still pending and I am even up for a promo in my firm. MBB offered me a Consultant position and I am up for SM in my current Big 4 and not sure if I will take up the MBB at this stage. I would recommend waiting for premium processing to open up before trying
I wouldn't take a pay cut for MBB.
What douche bags!
It’s more about trying to keep it exclusive and not wanting more people to get in, kinna makes them feel like they’re just better than you. If you got in, it wouldn’t be as special to them anymore.
Such classic douchebags. So glad I don’t work with such people and am extremely happy with my ‘mediocre’ mid-tier big 4 with people who just work and enjoy themselves and do what’s necessary, mildly unethical and actually know how to have a good time without sitting on that high horse.
Wow. Hold it there. We’re a 16k ppl company vs 290k at D. It’s not a stretch to say everyone mostly knows everyone even in the largest offices. For analytics PA (Gamma) the world is even smaller.
It’s a pretty high chance you work with the dude you referred, so you want to be sure he’s not a douche.
And if someone crashes and burn pretty badly you don’t want to be remembered as the one that made the referral.
