In the long run, absolutely. A CPA is valuable
I wouldn't say it increases your salary/bonus, but it opens up more opportunities if you were to leave public accounting.
Usually firms offer a bonus for passing the tests. Also, it can help in the search for new jobs, which would also lead to higher comp. and in order to move past a manager it is often needed.
Honestly depends on long-term plans. I am on the accounting systems/ project side and was specifically told by a former controller not to waste my time. I am a CFE though.
No certification or advanced degree holds a candle to the CPA. The latter shows a commitment to the profession to which nothing else can compare.
Yes. Opens up a different level of advancement opportunities, particularly in Public, and also carries a certain weight of respect as expert outside of public. Both translate to dollars in the long run.
Depends on the firm!
If you work in public no it shouldn’t. But you can’t become a manager in most firms if you don’t have one.
It is more valuable as you go on in your career. Public managers require it. Industry SM/directors require it.
