I'm having two 2nd-to-last rounds for non-G FAANGs this week, but I haven't heard if/when I am advancing in interviews for 2 different roles at G that I last interviewed or phone screened for 2 weeks ago. Will Google speed up if I tell them I'm in the process with another FAANG? Will it look bad if I tell G I'm advancing elsewhere but don't get the offer elsewhere?

I’m interviewing at Google’s Treasury team. The role would be as a rates analyst managing their portfolio - primarily cash and short duration fixed income products (100bn aum). TC: ~150k, not sure of breakdown.

I currently work as a quant/middle office at a very well reputed mutual fund, but this is not a market facing role. TC: 125k, but they have a very generous profit sharing plan that contributes 25% of my pay to retirement accts if I stay for 6 years, so ~160k?

I'm a light sleeper who cares too much about the people around me, but I've got a flight to London next Friday from 7pm NYC time to 7am UK time, and I'd really like to master sleeping on a plane just this once and not be in jet lag hell for the entire day after I land. I think I read about some kind of process where when an applicant reaches out to a current student or alum for a 1:1 and makes a good impression, the student/alum can send a message to the adcom letting them know? Don't own a personal laptop; always use my work laptop for everything. I see people recommending Dell XPS or Lenovo Thinkpad but do you really need that for school? My plan was to just get a run of the mill laptop to use for excel and ppt...what else do i need it for?
