Drowning in Chrome tabs

I’m a strategist by trade so opening multiple tabs during research feels unavoidable. The problem becomes when I spiral into digital hoarding and accumulate 60+ tabs at once. I’ve started breaking them into separate windows and “naming” the window as Chrome lets you do but that only helps a bit.

I’ve tried some extensions like Pocket but could never get the habit to stick. Do fellow ADHDers have an app/feature/extensions that feels in-obstructive and actually works??

For anyone that needs to know this, I observed that Safari on iOS caps you to 500 tabs. Per instance…

I’m also a strategist, and if it’s mostly articles your saving the easiest thing for me is using the Raindrops.io extension, tagging them, and then closing them.

But beyond that’s here’s some of the other tab management tools I use:

I use an extension called Toby to offload tabs. Super helpful, lets you combine them into different sub groups, and available across devices.

I also like onetab which is a similar extension but lighter and has fewer features.

And I’ve recently started exploring vertical tab organizing, with extensions like this:

Haven’t tried it yet, but who knows…maybe this is the one that’ll solve all my problems.

Hell yeah definitely

Honestly I just use chrome’s grouping feature. I can add tabs to a group and quickly expand or close them as needed.

I agree, I sometimes see people with so many tabs open they can’t read the tab titles and they click through every single one to find the one they’re looking for. It’s crazy

On my work computer I keep things slim, but on this phone right now I am 493 tabs open in one browser and 15 more in another.

Chrome groups and OneTab has been my lifeline

Use the built in tab groups and pin tabs you use regularly.

I totally understand how you feel honey if you find out Recipe for success please let me know. Lol Best of luck to you and have a beautiful day!

As a fellow strategist, this is also my life. I don’t have a suggestion, I’m just here to commiserate - typically I wait for Chrome to crash and then decide in the moment if I want to restore the previous tabs or not

Give OneTab a try if you haven’t already. I’m on day 2 and am hopeful this might be my solution

It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision. I know I’m not alone that people don’t want to return to the office. My ADHD and the open office just makes working from the office a nightmare and I’m feeling really nervous and kind of resentful.

Hi! I’m a young professional with less than 2 years experience, started a new job 1.5 months ago. I’m having quite some difficulties on balancing out my response time to tasks. While I act incredibly fast if not immediately with some, I sometimes take 1-2 weeks with couple of hours worthy ones. Sometimes I ignore, procrastinate or simply other more urgent things come up to increase the delay. Also I work with 3 managers in my team which doesn’t help with expectations nor guidance. Any tips pls?

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12. My family did not opt to put me on medication. I illegally discovered Adderall in college. Worked incredible.
