During an interview, one of the interviewer said ‘that is unreal’ to one of my behavioral question example.
Still not sure if it was meant to be a compliment or questioning the credibility of my example 🤔

If you get the offer it will be a compliment and not then the latter

I mean that’s the most we/anyone can infer from this anecdote lol so no need to dwell on it.

Personally, I use unreal in the context of “woah, that’s crazy/cool/interesting/impressive”, but I’m not the interviewer

like

Neither?

Then?

What was your example and what was the prompt?

I currently work as a Contracted Software Engineer and I’m set to finish my contracted time at the end of October. I definitely could use the extra paycheck to help out with my financial obligations. Just wanted to see if anyone has done this before.

Currently an associate at a mid-sized firm with “strong potential” to make partner at the end of this year. Things have been toxic for a while, but have cratered in 2021, with few signs there will be any positive changes on the horizon. What are the pros and cons of staying to make partner before trying to go in-house? I’d assumed it would be better to job search with that title on the resume, but am rethinking my assumptions the worse things get.

However, I've had A LOT of recruiters reach out to me for positions that are way below my current salary. My resume clearly says I've got 10yrs experience and an MBA. I **don't think* I should be getting offers of 80k-100k
