Every time my manager makes a mistake or forgets to delegate something to us, she blames it on me or another coworker. It's insane and makes me feel like I'm working in retail and not a professional office. Would it be too petty of me to try to set her up and catch her passing the buck and making her look bad in front of the upper management team?

Are private companies easier to work at than public companies in accounting? We have such an accelerated close deadline at the publicly traded company I’m at now, I really hate the inflexible tight deadlines and analysis seems to drag on forever after that. We also close AP/AR very early in the month yet that doesn’t stop payments/receipts from happening so we’re constantly adjusting our accruals until the end of month. Do private companies start their close after the month actually ends?
