Everyone knows cold applying has a very low chance of success. When networking and when following up on applications with recruiters or hiring managers, do you guys email people (recruiters and hiring managers) first (nowadays you can find emails online via various tools) or do you send LinkedIn messages? I'm not really getting any responses over LinkedIn.

It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. I proceed to ask how much PTO is offered and he said that is not recommend within the first 6 months of working and the harder you work the more PTO you receive.
