Totally doable. Just know there are probably 250 of these jobs in the market and everyone is gunning for them.

Me. $267K, 5.5 YoE, working maybe 35 hours a week at most. It’s way more common than you think.
TPgM in Cloud at Google.

G1 - what was your role back when you were at 3YOE? Program manager? I’m trying to get in to program management but seems like 1) they typically require 5Y+ experience and 2)the skillset required is different from consulting at analyst level where I do analysis rather than manage a whole project/program, so I don’t think I have strong examples for interviews even if I can get interviews (which I haven’t tried but just reading job descriptions don’t think it’s easy)
Someone I know - $250k all in, Google S&O - exited from BCG after ~3 years
Haha idk why SM brought that up like it's fake cash. It's Alphabet RSU, it's either as good as cash, or '20-'21 better than cash
So basically, only google or IB/HF/PE?

Just google. Others are way way way more than 40 hour weeks

I mean…exceedingly brilliant software engineer with red hot skillsets in say AI / ML. Who then chooses google (MAYBE msft) over any other tech company for 40 hour workweek?
The 40h week is honestly the sticking point that makes this a unicorn
I was making more than this within the sports space at director / senior director levels having left as a PL. if your leaving as. PL I’d expect at least that much as I accepted low ball offers to be in target companies. Lots of opportunities out there.
At below director probably harder but also think if you leave as a C and perform well getting to director quickly is realistic

Yea I mean I mean at the director level, making $350k+ working 45h/week doesn’t seem so rare/impossible. Also if leaving as PL I wouldn’t expect a $200k salary…which is why I asked if such jobs exist for 3YOE haha
2 YOE, top tier engineering internships -> MBB -> tech strategy, 250k TC, 40 hrs a week and significantly healthier and happier :)
Had multiple FAANG offers and ended up at G in the bay w/ incredibly lucky timing and strong interviews (<24 hr offers from final interview)
Honestly I was surprised at the TC but definitely not complaining
