I wouldn’t worry too much - main quality required is willingness to learn on the job, keep odd hours, and support the team to the best of your ability, regardless of the task at hand.
Can give you a shopping list of stuff you’ll actually use if it’s helpful (Dad x3)

Just confirming this is what you were referring to right?
You come 2nd now.
Just love the kid genuinely and wholly and your intuition will guide you the right way.
Do not expect to be perfect. Just be your best.
We just had our first a month ago, I did not do any prep in terms baby knowledge or what to expect. I watched a couple videos on how to change diapers, holding a baby etc., I learned on the job and doing more than fine.
I knew I’d be freaking out if I was overprepared and did not do things by the book. Enjoy the experience, it is truly magical. I think you need to be more prepared on caring for your SO. This is something I was very keen on.
Absolutely. She's amazing and being brave and I'm trying to be as supportive as possible.
We kept Baby 411 on hand for the entire first year. It’s a great resource to look up whatever the days mini-mergency is without losing yourself on the internet.
Just make sure they eat, sleep and poop. That’s all for the first 3 months.
Thank you all! You have no idea how much I appreciate the advice and just the support.
Key notes. Support the head/neck. Buy big packs of good quality diapers and wipes. Get a co-sleeper. You don't need a change table, just use a bed. Zip up clothes only, never get the buttons. Trust the mothers instincts. Everyone needs to wash their hands a lot.
