Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

A lot of times I see the raise questions and most of the people answering are the staff who had no idea or personal experience with raises. If your salary is to double in 6 to 7 years is start how come 4% , 6% or 8% is going to help? If my raise is less than 15% in promotion year, I am quitting. My last promotion raise was 18.9% just to let you know that I am not one of the staff either.
That's not how it works. It depends on the comp bands identified for your specific market. These are set taking into account external data by level rating and group. Suppose it's 100. Then your raise will depend on your base which may be different from your friend or an external hire or a transferee
12.5%
6%
Staff 1 to Staff 2 last year got a 4 rating and a 12.5% raise. West region tax
Firm did "bad" this year. In a normal year 12% range would be expected. This year I think it will be less.
12%
Only way you're seeing 12% is if it's a promotion year
Senior 1 to Senior 2, got 4 and a12.5% raise last year so it's possible non-promotion year
I got 4 promoted to senior this year, it's prob gonna be 10-12
I've been a 4 every year at EY. Lowest was 11% highest was 17%
That is advisory
However...not expecting that this year with firm performance the way it was
We have until aug 11 to communicate rating and promo status to our counselees. I already got the information for mine. If you are up for promo your counselor already knows. Comp talks will start after Aug 11th. If your counselor hasn't talked to you yet ask them if you can set up a time to talk about it.
Rating meeting. Sometimes they forget. Just ask
Really ? 12% ? That high? Lol
Wow. What about advisory ?
8%
I think it will be 8-10% this year. 5's will be 12-15% max. 3's will be 4-6%. The firm had a bad year. Only 15% growth.
EY8 with the voice of reason. If you want a comparable datapoint, post your before and after salaries. Percentage changes aren't meaningful for comparison purposes. But for what's it's worth, the only sub 10% raise I've received was staff 1 year - the only year I haven't been 4 or 5 rated.
