Does anyone ever feel like they are wasting their 20s? To be honest after rent, student loans, and 401k/savings I really don’t have any money to do anything (travel, hobbies, etc)

Cont —— really frustrating sometimes because this job can occasionally make me feel so down on myself. I will sometimes get the thought I am not getting anywhere by working here

My dad, after us kids were out of the house, would work a year or two and then take a year or two off, and then go back. People would talk about how would he ever retire, and then he died at 58. So life lesson here is, save less and have some fun.

Def not. I was a bartender at a tiki bar in a small beach town. Made bank and got laid all the time

Well, know you're not alone. I guess if you're not already, try making a budget just to see where your money is going. Maybe there's somewhere you could save and put towards a travel savings account? If you're already doing this, yeah idk life sucks lol stay strong.

I was just informed after the third round of interviews they’d like at least 5 references, two must be supervisors. My last job was a temporary remote job where I didn’t really interact with my supervisor and the jobs before that were at my family’s business (I do not speak to any of them for serious personal reasons.) Anything before that was grad school and I haven’t kept in contact with any professors from over five years ago. What should I do? 😕

Is it crazy to leave my job at EY to take a lower paying position in industry? I'm a recently promoted tax manager making about 140k. I've been considering going to industry for a while, gotten a couple offers, but they're all pretty low (<$120k). Honestly, the $20k difference isn't that much, but I've also been considering taking job that pay maybe $90k and doing work on the side (my own "firm"). But it also feels strange to accept such a lower salary. Thoughts?
