Amazon folks - need to reschedule an inteview due to an unforeseen work commitment. Wondering if it's going to look bad/impact the interviewing chances if I were to ask for a reschedule? It's taken months of applying to get one so don't want to jeopardize but the current job committment is going to be difficult to get out of (unless I call in sick). Recommendations?
Hi fishies. I have a ton of interviews coming up soon including a case interview at EY within their Innovation and Experience Design practice for Digital Strategy Manager. I am super comfortable with CX, design thinking, etc which are the types of projects I would be working on BUT I am absolutely terrible in case interviews. I was hoping it would be based on CX or design but my understanding is there is some revenue component idk. Anyone have any insight? I would greatly greatly appreciate it!
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I’m very glad we’re taking care of our people. Better to keep jobs than to have a bonus.
True that
Proud to be a part of EY
proud to be a part of EY
I guess that’s better than lay-off. Wonder if Deloitte will follow suits.
👏 to EY’s leadership for being transparent/straightforward and addressing the issue that’s on everyone’s mind
Can't imagine what that must be like
Hope KPMG will follow the lead
Joining EY soon, so it’s a relief ...
It's nice that EY is putting 'people' first, but the top performers who worked their butts off this year for a bonus may feel differently.
Agree
Are y’all hiring? Please
Bain 1: yes. For those in the process of separation from the firm, they put a pause on it. Bc it "would be inhumane to our ppl out of job" rn. Very proud of EY leadership.
It depends when your performance year ends. For us, it just ended in March. If we don’t get bonuses for the past year work (which Deloitte already cashed in on) I’m sure many folks will be very disappointed. I understand if for the work to be done this year, perhaps bonuses will be impacted.
You forgot one of the best parts. She flat out said we’re going to rely on medical information on making our decisions to travel/not travel. Also any kind of BS racism is not tolerated and not who we are etc. she really minced no words and was clearly responding to some of our idiot government comments. I’m new to EY, but if the above and no layoffs holds true, they’ll have my loyalty for a very long time.
Did they say no workforce reduction “this year” or no workforce reduction at all?
EY’s fiscal year ends in September, so any layoffs would likely be after that anyway. We don’t even know how much this will impact our business yet.
To be honest at this point all I care that my firm stressed the fact that we think people first and putting our wellbeing first. If shit goes down post September, it does. But hope things get better soon for us and rest of the companies heavily affected.
It's a nice gesture but I think this is going to get worse before it gets better, and all companies are going to have to at least consider layoffs or furloughs. But definitely more than willing to sacrifice this year's AIP if it means people can keep their jobs.
US all hands webcast going on literally right now
There is hope for humanity..maybe this is the crack in the machine and business can start recognizing it’s not all about the bottom line return to shareholders....
So Accenture is not in a good shape then? As in publicly traded?
Not anymore...
That doesn’t seem like a change from the original in my opinion. If EY is going to raise performance standards, they’ll do it regardless. This just means those who would be on the chopping block no matter what get a few months reprieve.
When?
Does it also apply those who would have been counselled out because of poor performance?
Wouldn’t counseled out mean they are not with the company anymore?
