What does mentorship look like at your firm? Is it mainly business development/client acquisition or something more? I work for a partner who’s been practicing since the 70’s and can pincite from memory but I often find he’s too busy to talk for extended periods of time. I’m about 1.3 years in (2020 grad) and wondering if I’m “too junior” for some form of mentorship?
Legit just had a client turn down a meeting invite because "they don't want to work that much today"
Serious question for creatives at WK - I respect the agency’s work so much so hope this comes across as honest curiosity. WHY is every Nike ad a montage now? The magic isnt the same. Is this a client demand so they cam squeeze 15 sports in there?
Agency recruiters: what’s the real feeling on going from client-side to agency side? Does any client-side experience matter?
What does Product Management in the Professional Services practice of a large SaaS company do? Sounded like identifying client professional services needs and developing a service offering for that need; but in my experience most professional service offerings are reactionary, i.e. responding to RFPs. This sounds like creating a service and trying to aggressively sell it to clients that aren’t asking for the service.
Off the clock, male client saw me looking at shoes on my phone & told me he felt bad for my husband. I quickly told him not to worry because I make plenty of my own money. What a dick.
If things are slow at the client and I work less than 45 hrs a week - do we still 'charge what you work' and record less than 45 hrs for the week? (I'm an analyst)
Is anyone here traveling M-Th for client work? If so, what is your company policy especially with the Omicron variant? I have no choice but to travel and think my company should pay for weekly testing. Is that fair to ask? Thoughts?
Which is better: a client that knows exactly what she wants or a client that has no clue?
Most of the client locations and offices do not have footrest and my legs kind of swells by sitting on chair for entire day. Any one with similar issue and how did you solve it?
Hey Folks, Any java developer working in Mphasis for JPMC project ? Need some reality check on the kind of work. My hiring manager is boasting about the technologies, opportunities that they offer. I hope she is not trying to body shopping.
Clients be “to my understanding, xxx” and every stakeholder has a different understanding….can we just align to the project scope and stop pushing for more 💀
What agencies in Canada have Sephora or any other beauty brands as a client? I know McCann has L’Oréal, but it’s mainly their French wing. Really want to pursue an opportunity to work on a beauty brand at some point. Thanks!
Any tips for prepping on a move to a new role? Starting new role at Accenture (tech delivery), coming from industry, no idea what to expect. I mostly worked on smaller scale projects, a lot of them internal. I have a month, so can do some prep work (courses, network, books, etc) to not be fully lost. Don't know where to start (client work, all the new technologies used, multiple industries, pure size of the organisation). Also, should I add any of my interviewers on LinkedIn? Is that normal?
When interviewing at a former client, is it cool to acknowledge that you’ve worked with them before? If so, can you go into detail about the work?
Walk down to the cafeteria to get coffee and a client is just rolling in with a novel in hand. This guy also leaves at 330 every day. Industry, God bless.
What is a good email subject to ask for coffee meetup to someone you just met once at a client?
I want to retire my chase Sapphire reserve this month and switch to something that gets me delta advantage ( still researching the best card). What is the best way to use 70k points if I don’t want to use them for travel via Chase? Unfortunately there are too many restrictions and I’ve not had a great experience with chase travel.
Anyone here know of any middle market / lower middle market sell side shops that have active real estate groups?
New fish looking for career guidance. I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation. I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm. Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?
🤣 funny ass business newsletter on why your companies diversity efforts suck 🗑 https://diversitygrinch.substack.com
I’m dating someone new and it is going very well. He is kind, not high strung, with great values and shares my sense of humor. It is so easy and natural to spend multiple days with him. Still I am having doubts because I think he isn’t very “intellectual”. To be clear, he’s intelligent! He is a great STEM role that requires an advanced degree. We share a love of reading as well. However he is not really interested in world affairs, does not follow the news closely, does not have a strong grasp
Is it racist for a black fan to be upset (comment on their photo) that their favorite black celebrity has chosen a white girlfriend? "Are there no black ladies available". Two friends feel differently - one says the black fan is racist towards the white gf and the other says the fan is ignorant but not racist. What do you think? Please explain your stand. Thanks!

Is this bowl still alive? How’s everyone doing in quarantine? I feel the additional stress from covid is lowered by the relief of having fewer social obligations

If I leave the firm before my referral bonus is due (6 months from now?), Will I still get paid for that referral?
What consulting books are good to read? Topics. How to climb the corporate ladder as fast as possible. Any other good consultant information.
Anyone knows if Microsoft has a relocation bonus? And how much do they give you if you are moving cross country to Seattle?
I am doing UXR interviews, and although I have read that a background in design is not required for UXR, I have been asked a few times now what my design experience is, and if I know how to use design apps. I have ample research experience and a solid understanding of product development cycles, which I think should be enough to land me a UXR role, but is it? I would love to hear from folk whether it’d be worth taking a few design courses!
