I’m considering taking a new job that’s four days a week in office and I’m full remote now and don’t know what to do

like

It is a personal preference. After many years in the office I have now been working remotely from home. I’m in my 60s now and working remotely has been a blessing.

Flexibility is best imo. Home is good for certain thing and office others. It’s not magic imo.

I can't remember the last time I heard someone say they prefer working onsite vs. remotely. I guess to each their own. Which do you prefer?

like

I prefer onsite

People who work remote are saying they want to be onsite? I would never say that. I would love to have a fully remote role haha.

like

I like onsite if I don’t trust them. If they are good, they can work wherever

How do you establish rapport/trust in a 30 min interview?

How are 1st year litigation associates dealing with WFH? I’ve been having terrible anxiety/panic attacks, and pretty sure my billables wont exceed 110 for April. I’ve been super stressed about it and don’t know how to move on to May with the proper mindset to make up for as much time missed as possible. CA courts are still closed, and I’m worried I won’t be able to exceed (or even meet) my May goal after April.

Anyone else in “I’ll do my job description and nothing more” mode? I’ve gone above and beyond for my company for a while, and all I got was my quarterly bonuses and remote work taken away without explanation. Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I really want something that’s remote and steady, any recommendations on how to spruce myself up?

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.
