Feeling disrespected because a partner gave me a bad review. I asked for feedback midway through last year and he said I was doing well but could work on writing. I would expect a partner to tell me a few months prior if they intended to give a bad review so I could address deficiencies. At a minimum, call and give me a heads up so I’m not surprised. All of my other reviews were good. Am I wrong to be mad? I don’t want to work with this partner anymore.

I work at an MSP (Managed Service Provider) meaning we are the IT services for many other companies. I think I have work trauma not sure how it’s clouding my ability to make decisions. I’ve had unstable work after being laid off from a company 3 years ago. I thought I worked out a plan to get to a stable place but my job is proving to be unstable yet again. What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. I’m going in with an open mind but little concrete information on his entity and goals and ways I could get involved. What questions would you ask such a person?

What is the expectation at your firms about coming into work after making your billable hours requirement? Asking especially for those who do not get a bonus per extra hour billed over the minimum.

About to turn down a job offer that would nearly double my salary after speaking to several former associates of the firm and hearing some not so great things. The word “sweatshop” was used multiple times yet I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around it. This is truly “you can’t pay me enough to be part of that” in action. I am betting that I can get the same money at a place with a better culture - hopefully I am right!
