It’s the easiest thing to learn than any tech in the history of tech. It may kill every white collar job and lead to full societal collapse, but for now, you can ride the wave, train yourself and move to more relevant roles.
D1, Data engineering
Everyone in consulting is stressed about it.
I am not stressed about it at all. I’m learning how to use it better.
Im probably less qualified amongst the people here to learn and leverage it, so I’m trying to get out ahead of the curve.
I use it for talking points at orals or conferences. I use it to build the first cut at steerco slides etc.
Maybe try learning AI.
We’re learning it and still losing jobs.
Im on a UX team working on an AI-powered product for a client. We can’t really use any AI tools in our workflow, but somehow An AI vendor comes in and recreates the product with agentic AI. Leadership loves it and completely abandons all the work we’ve been doing for the past two years. Half of our team is gone and the rest will be very soon. We don’t even know if that’s what our users want. We don’t know how accurate this agentic solution is in a highly regulated industry. This is not about using AI to help with presentation slides. It’s about displacing product owners, designers, researchers and strategists with one or two FDEs.
Where does it stop? I fear it’s not going to end well for our society.
If you’re working on AI, why would you be surprised? It’s the most fundamentally evil tech that exists (worse than the last set of social media creeps).
Ah that. Initially the client’s premise was to make the process more efficient and faster. Much later we found out that part of the process eliminates people’s roles. And now our roles are in jeopardy bc of (even better) agentic AI. But in all honesty every digital product out there contains AI to a certain degree. And it’s been like that for years. The difference is that it’s proliferating and taking over everything like a malignant decease. How is this going to end? I have anxiety just thinking about it.
