Hi! I’m a data analyst in Target (India), with ~4 years of experience in this field. I just got a hike, and am working towards getting a promotion this year. I want to get an idea about the average salary (or the range) of a senior data analyst here. Also, the % hike that people usually get during a promotion like this. Thanks!

Tell your manager that you want to learn more. Ask for additional, more challenging projects. Ask if they'll pay or reimburse for courses or other educational materials. Sometimes we have to be the squeaky wheel to get what we want. Your manager may not realize you're unhappy and underchallenged. Speak up!
Already in pursuit of a certification.
Feel the same way, but I’ve realized that it’s not so much that I’m not learning.. it’s that the nature of the job I.e. the projects the firm does or I get staffed on limit my learning. And on that note am considering a change to other firms that might potentially put me in a better place to learn.
Maybe speak to peers and also colleagues a level or two above you.. see whether there is something you can do to accelerate your learning or if the base of it is purely that the form you’re at can’t give you the learning you desire (if this makes sense :) )
It’s probably got to do with your firm and the timing of life.. I think you should try switching firms. This is a very common situation at firms that are not driving change you know..
You sound like someone who wants to learn and absorb as much as possible and some smaller firms just can’t give you that :)
A good quote I’ve heard from family is “whenever you feel like you’re not growing or learning, that’s when you should leave your company”. If you have exhausted all your options such as asking for new projects or going on training, you should look for a new place to work. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery to get you out of a rut
Could it be the same way you’re carrying yourself in the interviews?
Have you considered switching or applying for a masters degree?
Yes. Been applying to places.
I already have a Masters. So doing related certifications.
What type of learning would you like to be experiencing? What are one or two steps you can take to make it happen? Think of options and present them. Also include what the value would be to the company for you to continue your learning - what do THEY get out of it (to get it approved). I'm a big believer that everyone is in charge of their own career. You're in the driver's seat to make the change you want.
