Female and first gen IB analyst here - none of my friends or family are in banking and I have very little people to go to to ask frank questions about career moves/exit opps. Any resources that you found helpful or places you found mentors who aren’t also your coworkers?

Hi fellow PMs, Question for the group: has anyone here made the switch from being a creative agency PM to a digital producer or digital agency PM? I.e. going from managing creative projects like TV to managing website builds/UX projects. If so, what was the transition like and what helped you get your bearings in the new environment? I’m thinking about making the switch myself but I don’t have a digital background.

Requirements:
Excellent programming skills using C.
Should be comfortable with gcc, gdb and other gnu utilities(nm, objdump, etc.) in a Linux/Unix development environment.
Multicore debugging is a plus.
Cross-development experience is preferred.
Good understanding of network stack operation(network device driver, IP, transport and socket layer) is required.
Must be domain expert in the IPv4 Networking field.
Knowledge of Ethernet, UDP, ICMP, ARP, IPv4 protocols is a must.

I started out as a graphic designer. Worked for about 4yrs in different roles. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Like in 5-10 years I wouldn’t want to be a specialist or a ux director. I d like to be an art director or creative director. I love branding & marketing but also product. Would love something that allows me to do both?

I see different thoughts about online certifications and boot camps if you don’t have experience. Any thoughts? Also what’s the best way to break into tech?

Asking for wife who's also in banking. If she got ~$100k in signing bonus in 2019 for 1 year commitment in CA and started FT in July 2020, assuming she leaves before July 2021, can her employer claw back full amount in California? Some say it's much tougher to do so under CA law but wonder if anyone has any insights. Banks won't likely care about analyst signing bonuses, but associate bonus at EB with diversity bonus can be significant. If she quits before, she won't be going to another bank.
