McKinsey & Company Just had the first of my final round interviews with McKinsey & Company. A bit taken aback as the interviewer specifically asked me to share a PEI story that I have not shared with the previous round interviewers. I have not heard of other case partners who had the same experience and they were usually able to share the same stories as they did in the first round. Any insights on this? Thanks much!

You will survive but you won’t be alive!
Homeless people in SF make more than that
Yes. There are people who earn minimum wage in SF and still survive. $5k is plenty.
If this is after tax, most definitely. Lived in SF fairly comfortably with less. Ignore these people saying the floor is $2500 for rent, I paid <$1500 (2 bedroom, 1 roommate and didn't live way the fuck out in Outer Sunset)
Pretax = ☠️... After tax = 🤔
Before or after tax? If you have roommates you could be ok if after tax
After tax? Absolutely
Maybe in the worst part of the mission district or with a couple roommates.
Do the math. If after tax, figure rent of ~2500 for a decent place. That gives you 2500 for everything else (savings, utilities, bills, spending, etc).
Manager 1 - those people making minimum wage in SF don’t live in SF.
Associates make 4k after tax and survive. You'll be fine. 5k before tax is hard tho.
Not enjoyably.
