Flew for the 3rd time since last March. I LOVE how all these consultants (and yes you can tell they are consultants) board the plane early with status. Who really wants to be on the plane longer than they need to be during Covid? I will board last thank you very much. Status be damned.

Hey, no one cares.

likefunny

Oh no there are always people who care. There’s always that one guy queued in the Group 1 line like 45 minutes before boarding 😂

likefunny

Umm ok?

It's about overhead storage space, not sitting for longer

like

Yeah it normally is, but this flight is like 1/2 full.

like

Lol calm down buddy. Did you just graduate and not get the chance to travel for work?

like

Yep I just graduated in 2007. It’s just comical to see the people distancing, then converge quickly even when they don’t need to be.

like

Airplanes have better air filters than airports

like

Thanks for sharing but you do realise that the plane is probably more “safer” than the airport, right?

like

I agree with this Covid or non-Covid. A true VIP experience is having overhead space reserved for you and being the last to board the plane so you can take the longest advantage of food, entertainment, and electric plugs.

like

I agree with you. Consultants have an unhealthy obsession with airline status as if it’s some sort of elite status symbol.. pun intended. They look silly boarding flights early during a pandemic. Everyone hurt here is probably one of those people..

like

cool.

like

I feel the same way. Even when I had max status I waited to the very last min to board. Can't stand being cramped like that. KPMG making me fly coach every week.

like

Pipe down, Chad. Did you lose your Diamond status over the quarantine or are you in Audit or something.

like

I prefer to stand before a long flight so I often line up. Now I’m pre-board and often still stand near the gate for luggage space and to get in 25+ min of work while everyone else is boarding.

pretty sure they stopped priority boarding. it’s by row now

Not United. They pre-board, then first class, then from the rear.

like

🍪

I board first so people can see me sitting in my free upgrade business class seat, oh hey yeah I look way richer than you poor guy

Delta boards their first class last now given their overhead is reserved. Looks like the other muggles got to go in first but didnt really get an upgrade (at least in Delta)

Actually, a scientific study just came out showing airplanes are one of the safest enclosed locations when everyone is wearing a mask. Their ventilation systems are top notch. So, airplanes are safer than the airport lobby you’re waiting in. :)

⚠️Toxicity Alert ⚠️

My previous manager would track us by hours daily, made a fuss everytime anything stretched and guilt us for that and the unplanned leave too unless it was COVID. Hinted him a lot of time, this is problematic but apparently he considered it "standard practice for agile".

Now 8/10 teammates have switched within < 1 year of project start (6-7 months with him) which tbh had good work in our opinion and even team was fun to work with even though none of us ever met in person.

On-board my first flight in 6 months watching a man 2 rows down gradually fill with rage as our flight reaches 45 minutes of delay. I never realized how much i missed this. I finally feel home again.

Ok. I am teaching music in person and when we have a case of COVID in the school, I push into the classroom for 10 days. Are there music websites that are free that I can go to for quick lessons when I’m asked to teach in the classroom. I was told today with 5 minutes to prepare that we had a case, I couldn’t teach in my room and I couldn’t do the ukulele unit I had planned. I had to think on the fly and quickly came up with a BrainPop for them. I’d like to find a few more music sites.
