I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Easy. Just click the link below and I’ll show you how.
Jesus you’re one of those people that click on everything. You’re a security nightmare. Your firms IT department should really consider doing a formal training with you.

The external tag is outlook is a big indicator for me.
Just don’t click on anything. Develop a hard lined stance that unless things are coming from your project team they don’t need to be read
Check the email address of the sender to see if it’s weird / matches the real company’s address and see if the email is trying to get you to click on a link (ex: your PayPal account has been suspended click here to review, etc)
I don’t answer calls from unknown numbers most of the time or I’ll screen them
Always hover over links to see where the URL is really taking you
Just don’t click on anything ever.....if it passes the surface checks, flag the mail and re-review it when you’re not distracted. Then follow the dozens of guidance emails and trainings you’ve taken and do the minimum amount of effort required to not put your job in jeopardy
