Like most consulting firms, relationships and visibility still play a big role in career progression. Dallas historically had more influence given it’s the HQ, but with growth in the West Coast and NYC, it makes sense that focus and leadership presence have become more distributed.
That said, this is still consulting—being visibly present, building strong internal relationships, and staying engaged all make a difference. Being someone people know, enjoy working with, and trust will naturally open up more opportunities over time.
They’re headquarter in Dallas. Being present is still the #1 lever for career growth imo.
The focus is NYC currently so that’s currently the best office to sit in
If long term career advancement in consulting is a key concern, why leave partner track at EY?
EY is an absolute mess right now. The big 4 are bad places to work, but EY is a special level of incompetent
Consider the credibility of your information
I mean, I am. Hence why I am posting here to see if it’s credible or not lol
It really depends on what service line. Location wise as long as you’re in a place with a strong client network it doesn’t matter (including cities without a physical office)
I will say the HQ Dallas office does not seem like a strong focus.
